I'm Cameron French, I was born and raised in St. Albert and now reside in Sturgeon County with my wife and two children. As a family, we cherish our time outdoors, especially camping during the summer months. Both of my children are actively involved in sports, where I contribute as a coach throughout the year. In my personal time, I pursue my passion for endurance sports and have successfully completed the 125km Canadian Death Race in 2021.
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting and began my professional career at KPMG in Edmonton, where I earned my Chartered Accountant (CA) designation, now recognized as CPA. My tenure in public practice spanned five years, specializing in personal and corporate tax before transitioning to a role as Chief Financial Officer for a local construction company. After a rewarding five-year period learning the intricacies of the industry, I seized the opportunity to acquire Alley Kat Brewing Company from its founding owner in February 2020. Since acquiring the company, I have focused on expanding the business and forging strong partnerships.
In the craft beer market, I have dedicated countless hours to developing our new brand identity while preserving Alley Kat’s foundational roots and values. This journey through brand evolution and business growth has equipped me with valuable insights and expertise, which I am now excited to share through the launch of Rooted, assisting others in their entrepreneurial ventures.
Our story
The journey of Rooted began with a chance meeting that turned into a groundbreaking collaboration. Cameron French, having recently taken the helm at Alley Kat Brewing Company, was in the midst of steering the company towards new horizons. Recognizing the need for a fresh brand identity that honoured the brewery's rich history while embracing the future, Cameron sought out expertise in branding and digital marketing, which led him to Jacquie Page.
Jacquie, the creative force behind Jacquie Page Creative, brought with her a wealth of experience in transforming brand stories into visual and strategic masterpieces. She shaped her approach to marry Cam’s personal brand with the existing Alley Kat's core values and community-focused spirit. As Jacquie worked closely with Cameron to reinvigorate Alley Kat’s branding, they discovered a shared commitment to authenticity, quality, and sustainability.
Their professional synergy and complementary skills—Cameron’s strategic acumen in business and finance, alongside Jacquie’s creative and visionary branding—proved highly effective. Realizing the potential of their partnership, Cameron and Jacquie decided to leverage their combined strengths further. Thus, Rooted was born—a business designed to assist other entrepreneurs in nurturing and growing their businesses grounded in shared values of integrity and innovation.
